Upcoming Opportunities To Learn About The Appalachian Carbon Partnership

Rural Action is holding 3 upcoming meetings on The Appalachian Carbon Partnership, a forest offset program that offers an income opportunity for woodland owners paying them for the carbon that is stored in their trees. The program is open to woodland owners with 30 or more acres of woods in Appalachian counties. At this meeting landowners will learn about the carbon market, requirements to enroll, and about potential income through the program. Meeting dates are: Tuesday, July 27 @ the Herbert Wescott Memorial Library in McArthur 5:30pm - 6:30pm; Wednesday, July 28 @ the Athens Public Library in Athens 6:00pm-7:00pm; Wednesday, August 4 @ the John McIntire Library in Zanesville 6:00pm-7:00pm.
