Free Training Offered On Good Agricultural Practices

The Chesterhill Produce Auction (CPA), Rural Action, and The Ohio State University Extension Service are offering a free training on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP's). Good Agricultural Practices are a combination of principles that apply to on-farm production and post-production processes that result in safe and healthy agricultural products. GAP's help promote better farm activities while also enhancing economic, social, and environmental sustainability. GAP training is required by many institutional buyers, but also gives the customer additional confidence that the produce they purchase has been handled safely and with consideration to sanitation. Hal Kneen, OSU Extension agent with Meigs Co., will be on hand to present this information and answer your questions. This training will be held on Monday April 19 at 1:00 p.m, at the Chesterhill Produce Auction venue located at 8380 Wagoner Road in Chesterhill Ohio. Pre-registration is not required. If you have any questions about this event please contact Tom Redfern or Bob Fedyski at 740-767-4938, or email or
