Gifts for the Rambler on Your List - For the Art Lover Edition

For the next couple of weeks we here at the Rural Rambler will be featuring some of the amazing, one-of-a-kind gifts you can only find right here in the towns and villages of Southeast Ohio. Support your local artisans and feel the joy of off the grid gifting! Today's feature - Local Art. Read on to find out where you can wrap up some for your special someone.

Rendville Art Works - This workspace and gallery has been open for over 7 years in the village of Rendville, just north of Corning (map), and its artist's work has been featured in gallery showings throughout Ohio.

Every week artists with mental and/or physical disabilities can be found creating work ranging from traditional drawing and painting to ceramics and mixed media. Many of the items on display around the walls are for sale and are clearly marked. Come by anytime Monday-Friday 9-1:30 and Saturday 10-2, we guarantee you'll find something for any taste among the variety of work available and 100% of all sales go directly to the artist. Visit their extensive website here for more information.
The Old Hardware Store Coffee Shop - Far more than just a great cup of joe, the Old Hardware Store is quickly gaining a reputation with it's delicious soups and hearty lunch specials. A veritable oasis of flavor in southern Perry County, the shop is now also branching out into the arts.

Offering sale space in its beautifully restored dining area, the Old Hardware Store has attracted handmade crafts ranging from jewelry, to candles, to home decor and more, all made by local folks. Definitely a must visit this holiday season, where else can you savor a hot, homemade lunch and check a few folks off your list at the same time! Right on Corning's Main St, you can't miss it and you shouldn't! ________________________________________________
