Make your final summer Saturdays in Athens an enjoyable experience of meaningful social interactions that strengthen self reliance and encourage you to feel good about you.

Start off at the Farmer's Market on East State Street and discover the wide range of whole natural foods grown locally. Next, travel to the Athens Wellness Coop to learn more about complementary health care options capable of creating a more vibrant you. Tea and finger foods will be served to stimulate the senses. Various health care providers will also be present to provide information about the services they offer. Visitors may also engage in mini-sessions of their choice at the discounted fee of $5 for 10 minutes. End your day with a delicious meal at the Village Bakery on West State Street, where you will find a variety of tasty treats prepared from locally grown or reliable organic sources.

Level 2 Macroinvertebrate Identification Workshop

OSU Extension will be holding an identification workshop on macroinvertebrates beginning on this morning. The workshop is limited to 12 participants and will be followed by the Ohio EPA level 2 exam, which is a timed 90 minute exam. Exam to conclude between 3:45 PM - 4:15 PM.

Chesterhill Produce Auction

The Chesterhill Produce Auction is open for business again this year, with great produce like asparagus, green onions, strawberries, rubarb, and farm-fresh eggs already going for great prices this early in the season. There are also plenty of odds-and-ends available for purchase, including a number of sturdy, handmade cedar picnic tables. The auction takes place every Thursday, beginning at 4:00 PM.

Jelly and Jam-boree Workshop

SEO Kayaking Daycamp Benefit

Southeast Ohio Kayaking will be holding a benefit for the Sunday Creek Daycamps at Dow Lake outside of Athens. All rentals from SEO Kayaking on this day will go to benefit the Sunday Creek Daycamps. Huff Run Monthly Meeting

Monday Creek Watershed Daycamp

The Monday Creek Restoration Project will be holding a week-long daycamp, aimed at children between 8 – 12 years old. Classes will be held on conservation, watershed restoration, acid mine drainage, and the history of the Appalachian Ohio. The cost of the daycamp will be $30 per child.

Sunday Creek Trash Pick-Up

The Sunday Creek Watershed Group will be holding a trash pick-up on the morning of June 20 near the Roger’s Hollow Restoration Project. Following the trash pick-up, volunteers and Sunday Creek staff will be swimming and using a rope swing in an area of Sunday Creek near Roger’s Hollow for the rest of the afternoon.

It promises to be a great time – volunteers should plan on meeting at the Sunday Creek offices (located on High Street in downtown Glouster) the morning of the trash pick-up. For more information, contact Kaabe Shaw (shaw@sundaycreek.org) or call the Sunday Creek offices (740.767.2225).



Sunday Creek Watershed Daycamp
July 20 – 24

Glouster, Ohio

The Sunday Creek Watershed Group will be holding a week-long daycamp, aimed at children between 8 – 12 years old. Classes will be held on conservation, watershed restoration, acid mine drainage, and the history of the Appalachian Ohio. The cost of the daycamp will be $50 per child, as the children will also be participating in a rope challenge course at Ohio University during the week.
