Annual Meeting - This Friday!

Rural Action's 2009 Annual Meeting is THIS FRIDAY!

The meeting will be held at the Eclipse Company Store near The Plains from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM.

As we've been telling you during the past few weeks, the meeting will feature a keynote address titled "The Necessity of a 50-Year Farm Bill" from agricultural guru Wes Jackson, founder of the Land Institute in Salina Kansas. We will also be electing new members to the Rural Action Board of Directors and recognizing the winners of our 2009 Sustainability Awards.

We want to encourage everyone who is interested in learning more about Rural Action, re-connecting with the organization, or hearing what promises to be an excellent keynote address to come out and support sustainable development in Appalachian Ohio. The event is free and open to the public. There will also be desserts and coffee served during the meeting.

If you are planning on coming to the meeting we encourage you to carpool with your friends. Parking is available, but somewhat limited. If you wanted to make an evening of it, you could also bike out to the Company Store which is located directly next to the Hockhocking Adena Bike Trail.

For more information on the meeting, contact Calaina Goodyear (cgoodyear@ruralaction.org) or call our offices (740.767.4938).

Dana and I look forward to it. We note there's no request for RSVP, but we'll be there.
