Adventure Auction

Break Away from the Everyday!

Rural Action’s second annual Adventure Auction is now less than a month away! It will be held at the Hocking College Student Center on April 4 from 6:00 PM -10:00 PM, with free childcare provided. Live and silent auctions will showcase exciting adventure opportunities in our region and beyond, while attendees enjoy food provided by Purple Chopstix and music from jazz trio Las Cuerdas. The event promises to be a truly fun evening – and a great opportunity to support sustainable development in Appalachian Ohio. All of the proceeds from this event will help to support Rural Action’s programs in energy, forestry, agriculture, environmental education, youth leadership, and watershed restoration.

Continuing from last week’s Rambler, we are featuring a few of the items that will be up on the auction block below – just to give you a sneak peak at all of the great things we will have to offer! For a more complete look at the packages that will be available, please visit the Adventure Auction website (www.adventureauction.org).

First up, we have a one-of-a-kind Mozzarella-Making Workshop which has been generously donated by Bob O’Neil from Della Zona. And get this – the offer is good for up to 20 people! The mozzarella will be made from delicious local Snowville Creamery milk, and includes cheese for each person to take home, along with a local tomato salad. Bring wine to share you’re your “classmates” and enjoy a scrumptious Italian-themed evening of learning and fun with friends and family!

Another unique item that will be auctioned off on April 4 is the Marietta History Getaway. Spend the day cruising the Ohio River on the Valley Gem Sternwheeler and visiting the Ohio River Museum. Then, eat dinner at the Marietta Brewing Company and spend a night in the historic Lafayette Hotel. It’s an overnight trip that’s far enough to be an escape from the daily grind – but close enough to be convenient.

You can view these and other auction items at the auction website (www.adventureauction.org), as well as get more information or purchase tickets. You can also call our offices during the day (740.767.4938).

We hope to see you there!
