Winter Hike in the Hocking Hills

Join the Buckeye Forest Council for a hike, discussion and fun. Refresh yourself, and be part of action to protect Ohio's forests. Come on out and bring a friend!

Follow the directional signs to the BFC Gathering shelterhouse at Ash Cave accessed by State Route 56 east of Laurelville. Paul Knoop, Naturalist Consultant will lead a group hike. This is a winter hike and conditions are hard to predict. Bring along water and please remind everyone in your group to layer up for this hike. Hot chocolate, tea, coffee and cookies will follow the hike.

There will be a carpool driving to Ash Cave the morning of the hike. They’ll be meeting at the Athens Community Center at 11:00 AM. Call (1.866.OH.TREES) or email (david@buckeyeforestcouncil.org) for more information.

Earth Justice Network Monthly Meeting

The group will be following up on Greg Hitzhusen's January discussion of Ohio Interfaith Power and Light, sharing earth justice work by congregations, and planning events for the year. Pizza will be available. Afterward, a small group will be meeting to discuss Lester Brown's “Plan B 3.0” (chapters 7-9). Anyone is welcome to join in.

Free Seed Bagging Party

30th Annual OEFFA Conference

At this meeting, community members will share results from youth surveys and activities that have been used to encourage, enhance, and enlighten our youth. Dinner will be provided free of charge.
