Ohio Loses Longtime Sustainability Activist
By Tom Redfern, Sustainable Agriculture Coordinator

Anne Bulford, Communications Coordinator and newsletter editor for the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association (OEFFA) passed away on November 25, 2008.

Anne had been ill for the past two years, but continued to work for a better world through her writing and organizing on issues of sustainable agriculture and sustainability in general.

Those of us at Rural Action who had the privilege to work with Anne will greatly miss her, and we wish to express our condolences to her family and her colleagues at OEFFA.

Many members and partners of Rural Action will remember Anne for her steady support of the Land Owners’ Conference. Anne attended several conferences with her sons Peter and Skylar, and was a great asset during the nine years of the event.

Anyone wishing to help Anne’s children is encouraged to donate to the Bulford Family Fundraiser in this sad time. You can do so by contacting Doug Swift (dswift1@columbus.rr.com) or by sending a check to Doug Swift, 743 Military Road, Zanesville, Ohio 43701. Make a notation on the check and it will be deposited directly.
