The Lighter Side of Service

Hats Off to Brian Blair
by Clay Flaherty, AmeriCorps VISTA

At Rural Action, we make it a point to recognize the hard work of our staff and volunteers. And we would like to take this moment to single out the efforts of Brian Blair, who is always willing to put his nose to the grindstone for the task at hand. Or, in this case, jump into any situation without hesitation...

Last Monday, Brian was busy taking waters samples with the Sunday Creek Watershed Group (SCWG). When the coordinator Kaabe Shaw asked Brian to jump into a sludge pit to check how deep it was, he took one for the team and ended up stuck in mud that was as high as his hip. We at Rural Action would like to recognize Brian's dedication, and let all of our Rambler readers know that we know how to get our hands dirty at Rural Action.

Brian, keep up the great work!
