Upcoming Events

Food Drive May 19-23:
Rural Action is asking for canned goods and other items to donate to the APAC food pantry located in The Plains. Due to budget cuts, APAC had to close the doors of a food pantry in Glouster. There will be a box in the Trimble office, or people can stop by the APAC pantry in The Plains to drop them off. Other items needed are household cleaning supplies (soap, dish washing detergent, detergent for the washer)and paper products. Volunteer Opportunity
May 16, 30:

Huff Run Awareness Days with local public and home school districts. Students from 7th grade classes at Bell-Herron Middle School and Tusky Valley Middle School will be learning about water quality and related issues in the Huff Run Watershed. On the 16th, the program will run from 8:00 am to 1pm. For the 30th the program will be from 9 am-1:30 pm. You can volunteer! Contact Amber, amber@ruralaction.org or 330-859-1050.

Volunteer Opportunity Wednesday, May 14:
Youth Act Trash Pick-Up in Stewart. Meet at Stewart Methodist Church at 5:30 pm for dinner, with a trash-pick up following from 6:30-7:30 pm. Contact Christine, 740-767-4938 or christine@ruralaction.org, for more information.

Thursday, May 15:
Chesterhill Produce Auction Opening Day Celebration, 3pm, located at 8380 Wagoner Road, south of Chesterhill in Morgan County. There will be a volunteer recognition, Ohio University Executive Chef Matt Rapposelli will speak, and there will be refreshments. The first auction of the season will follow at its regular time, 4pm. Volunteer Opportunity Tuesday, May 20:
Meet at Wayne National Forest Headquarters on Route 33 at 10 am for a Plant Rescue with former Ohio First Lady Hope Taft. Rescued plants will go to the Governors Heritage Garden, at the Governors Residence in Bexley. Contact Tom, 740-767-4938 or tomr@ruralaction.org for more info.

Volunteer Opportunity Saturday, May 31:
