Saturday, April 12: Volunteer Opportunity
ReUse Highway and Grounds clean up, 11-3, Albany office. Volunteers will be picking up trash along US Highway 50 as well as the grounds of ReUse Industries. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Emily Camm by phone at 740-698-8200 x 15 or by email at emily@reuseindustries.org.

April 12-23:
Earth Week at Ohio University. This week of speakers, workshops, and projects will focus on environmental justice. Highlights include talks by nationally acclaimed authors Eric Reece and Jeff Goodell, a panel discussion about legal and policy dimensions of environmental justice, guided bike tours, and more. Wednesday, April 16:
Energy Learning Circle Meeting, 5:30-7 pm in room 214 in Building #22 at The Ridges. The meeting will be brief in order to allow everyone to attend a talk (as part of OU’s Earth Week) by Jeff Goodell about the true costs of coal mining (see below). Wednesday, April 16:
Featured Earth Week Speaker Jeff Goodell will give a talk about the True Costs of Coal Mining, 7-10 pm at Scripps Auditorium. Goodell is author of Big Coal: The Dirty Secret Behind America's Energy Future, and is a contributing editor at Rolling Stone. Goodell debunks the faulty assumptions underlying coal's revival and shatters the myth of cheap coal energy. Moderator: Bernhard Debatin, Associate Professor, E.W. Scripps School of Journalism.

Huff Run Septic System Awareness Workshop, 7:30-8:30 pm, Mineral City Fire Station. Learn more about the maintenance and operation of your septic system. Different system types, funding options, and effects on water quality will be discussed.

May 9, 16, 30: Volunteer Opportunity
