Wednesday, November 28:
Sunday Creek Public Meeting, 6:30, Sunday Creek Office, Glouster. Presenter Carlin Emanuel with Nature Conservancy:

Carlin Emanuel is a Forest Ecologist for The Nature Conservancy of Ohio located in Logan, Ohio. Carlin will speak to the group about her dealings with local landowners in establishing forest stewardship plans. The stewardship plans involve working with landowners to strategically protect and conserve Ohio's forest resources.

Saturday, December 1:
Alternative Holiday Fair at UCM from 9:00am to 1:00pm in the lower level of 18 N. College Street. Rural Action is participating in this event by selling things from our Marketplace.

Thursday, November 29:
The Athens Uptown Arts Market celebrates the best of Athens handmade and homegrown. Customers will find a wide array of jewelry, bags and apparel, health and beauty products, woodcrafts, quilts, photography, paintings, house-wares and specialty foods. The market is held the first Sunday of every month April through December, sponsored by the Athens Municipal Arts Commission and the Hidden Treasures Neighborhood of retailers. The Athens Uptown Arts Market is located on East State Steet between College and Court Streets. The street is closed to allow local art vendors to display and vend locally produced artisan and specialty food products.

Thursday, November 29:
Santa's official welcome to Athens! The Athens Uptown Business Association invites you to the Annual Tree Lighting outside of the courthouse, 6-8 pm. Featuring an appearance by Santa Claus, horse-drawn wagon rides, holiday window displays, refreshments and games. Don't miss it!

Friday, November 30 - December 1:
The Dairy Barn Arts Center presents a Holiday Bazaar: a festive weekend including an Artists’ Bazaar, children’s activities, food and more.

Friday, November 30:
Art of Ohio will be exhibiting 6 artist's work at Sattler's Photography and Frame Shop located at 478 Richland Avenue. The Open House reception will be on Friday, November 30 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm and is free to the public. All items exhibited will also be for sale. December 1-2, 8-9, 16:
Hocking Valley Scenic Railway Santa Train. Make this year's holiday memorable with a ride on Santa's Special Train and the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway! On-board you'll enjoy Christmas poems and festive music. Santa Claus boards the train and visits with each child as the train traverses the countryside. There's also a special treat from Mrs. Santa for each child. A fun and memorable time for the entire family, the Santa train is a great way to enjoy Southeastern Ohio during the Christmas season. Art of Ohio Woodworkers Showcase, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Athens Community Center
Art of Ohio will feature 8 of its woodworkers. Furniture, wood-turned bowls, platters, pens, cutting boards and cedar chests are just of few of the quality wood pieces that will be for sale. This is a free event open to the public. Art of Ohio woodworkers will be happy to talk with holiday shoppers!
