Share Your Heritage

On Thursday October19, the Share Your Heritage Project will hold a meeting at the Inn at Hocking College. The meeting will bring together local elected officials to discuss the possibilities of a local heritage tourism project. Bob Billington of the Blackstone River Valley Natural Heritage Corridor will speak to the attendees about how to promote the region’s assets for tourism and economic development. Huff Run Tour


The Huff Run Watershed Restoration Partnership will host its fall tour of the Huff Run Watershed on Saturday, November 4th. The public is invited to enjoy a beautiful fall day and join in exploring several of the recent reclamation projects helping to restore Huff Run. The tour will leave from the Huff Run office in Mineral City at 3pm, returning around 5pm. In the case of inclement weather, the tour will be cancelled. Stuart’s Opera House


On October 19 from 1-7 p.m., Stuart’s will host a blood drive. Jesse Colin Young will perform on October 21 at 8 p.m. Call 740-753-1924 or visit www.stuartsoperahouse.org for more information. A Final Friday Celebration will be held on October 27. The 4th Annual Costume Contest will also be held that day. Registration begins at 6 p.m., and the contest begins at 8 p.m.


A Tour of Rural Action


On Monday, October 23rd at 5:00 pm, there will be a one-hour introductory information session about Rural Action’s programs at the Athens Public Library. This is a great opportunity for community members to learn more about Rural Action, meet the staff, and give us feedback. Rural Action members living in the Athens area are also encouraged to attend to get updates on our most recent work. If you have friends and family who would be interested in Rural Action, please tell them about this event. We hope to see you all there!
