They have organized fundraisers, produced documentaries, written succesful grants, cooked local meals and taught kids about water pollution. They are this year's class of Rural Action AmeriCorps*VISTA members.

“VISTA” stands for Volunteers In Service To America. The government program was created in 1965 with the mission to eradicate poverty in both rural and urban areas. Today, nearly 7,000 AmeriCorps*VISTA members serve in nonprofit organizations and public agencies throughout the country. Through Rural Action, this year's departing class of AmeriCorps*VISTA members contributed approximately 9,600 service hours to Southeast Ohio. Thanks for all you do!
