MUSE, the Cincinnati's Women's Choir, presents the 23rd annual MUSE Spring Concert with Holly Near. Cindy Sheehan and Muslim Mothers Against Violence will provide pre-concert teach-ins beginning at 7 p.m.

Rural Action’s Annual Meeting

Please join us at our 2006 Annual Meeting, where the theme of the evening is “Rediscover Federal Valley.” The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. June 14 at the Federal Valley Resource Center. In addition to a tasty dessert bar and the sweet sounds of Jerry Rockwell's dulcimer music we are hosting a business expo that will highlight some of our favorite businesses located within the Federal Valley. You will also hear from our keynote speaker, conservationist Ted Bernard, as he discusses “The Third Wave of Conservation.” Please contact if you have any questions or concerns. See you there!

Ginseng Workshop
July 15, 10-12, Norma Johnson Center, Dover

The Huff Run Watershed Restoration Partnership (HRWRP) is conducting a ginseng workshop, to include a short presentation on the basics of growing ginseng in Ohio. There will also be a planting demonstration. Registration is $10 for non-members, $5 for HRWRP or Rural Action members. Space is limited and registration is required. Huff Run Photo Contest Entries Due July 28

Start snapping pictures: entries to the Huff Run Watershed Restoration Partnership’s annual photo contest are due July 28. All photographs must be taken within the Huff Run watershed. See complete contest rules by clicking here.

Huff Run 5K and Fun Day
August 20, 5 p.m., Mineral City Park on State Route 800

Mark your calendars now for the Huff Run 5K and Fun Day, a benefit for the Huff Run Watershed Restoration Partnership. Registration forms for the 5K can be found on the Huff Run website. Entry fees: $10 for individuals; $20 for families; $50 for teams. Awards will be given to overall winners and placing racers in each age category. First 40 participants to register get a free t-shirt!

The Fun Day will take place from 1 to 8 p.m. at the Mineral City Park. The day will include games, crafts, water quality demos and an Environmental Explorer meeting. Photo Contest winners will be announced.
