Ohio Mineland Partnership: Spring Conference
The Ohio Mineland Partnership is holding its Spring Conference from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 4 at The Inn at Hocking College. The conference features U.S. Forest Service projects in the Monday Creek watershed. Registration for the meeting will be $10 per person. This fee covers all costs associated with the meeting, meal and tour. Call (740) 373-7926 to make a reservation by phone.

Fair Trade Day
Saturday, May 13, 2 – 5 p.m. at Howard Hall site across from Baker Center (corner of Union and College Streets). Local vendors and fair trade supporters and promoters will come together to celebrate fair trade. Sample fair trade chocolate and coffee and learn more about the differences between fair trade and free trade. What does fair trade mean in a local economy, in a global context?

Mother’s Day Wildflower Hike
Sunday, May 14, 2006, 2 p.m.

Bob Scott Placier will lead a two-mile wildflower hike at Stroud’s Run State Park. Bob is a natural resources instructor at Hocking College, a founding member of the Athens Conservancy and a licensed bird-banding specialist. The Broken Rock trailhead is located at the end of the beach parking lot a tenth of a mile east of the Hocking Valley Sportsman Association Pavilion. As we hike, we will loop back along a ridge to the first group picnic area on the left when you turn in Strouds Run State Park to go to the beach. Hocking River Pedal and Paddle

Eighth Annual Landowners Conference: “Farms, Forests and Communities”
