Workshop for Artists at Hocking College
Hocking College and the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio are co-sponsoring a business assistance workshop for experienced and beginning artists, gallery owners and related small businesses or suppliers Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2, 2006. Kids vs. Aliens Puppet Show*
Rural Action’s Environmental Learning Program will present - in puppet show form - the heroic story of young people working to save the earth from aliens. It’s called “A Mountaintop Ditty.” Show time is 3 p.m. Sunday, April 2 at Arts West in Athens.

*Puppet performance suited for audiences aged eight to 108.

Meigs County Amateur Photo Contest
The Meigs Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) and the Leading Creek Watershed Group are sponsoring an amateur photo contest on the theme "The Waters of Meigs County." This contest is open to Meigs County residents of all ages; photos must be taken within Meigs County and relate to water. Examples of acceptable subjects include natural settings, recreation and water, uses of water resources, water conservation, etc. There is a limit of two photo submissions per person, and pictures of any format, size, black and white or color will be accepted. All pictures are welcome, current or historical. Submissions are due to the Meigs SWCD office by Friday, April 7. Community Food Initiatives Annual Meeting
Community Food Initiatives will hold its annual meeting at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Athens Saturday, April 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. Chris Chmiel of paw paw-growing and promoting fame will be the keynote speaker. You’ll get updates on C.F.I. projects including composting, plant and seed giveaways and the Trimble Edible Schoolyard project. Wildflower Hike in Zaleski State Forest

Announcing the 2006 Sunday Creek Benefit Dinner
We invite you to join the Sunday Creek Watershed Group for an evening of great food and fabulous prizes! The fourth annual Sunday Creek Watershed Group Benefit Dinner will be held this year at the Moose Lodge at 69 ½ High Street (State Route 13) in Glouster. This year’s Benefit Dinner will be held Saturday, April 29. Dinner, featuring delicious homemade spaghetti, will begin at 5:30 p.m.
