Pet This Snake!
Join the Flying Squirrel Club, a nature club that lets you observe, explore, create & learn.
The club is open to all kids ages 7-12. The first meeting is at the Athens Public Library from 2:00 p.m. -5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22. Club members will meet snakes and turtles, learn how pollution affects reptiles, and more!

The price is $30 for a three-month membership if your family is a member of Rural Action, and $45 for a three-month membership if your family is not a Rural Action member. For more information contact Diane Wiktorowski at 740-767-4938.

Huff Run Watershed Tour
Join the Huff Run Watershed Restoration Partnership on October 14 for a tour of their watershed. Meet at the Mineral City United Methodist Church at 11:30 a.m. for a FREE lunch and a short introduction. A charter bus will pick us up at 1:00 p.m. for the tour. Please RSVP by calling 330-859-1050. Monday Creek Watershed Tour

Monday Creek Restoration Project will be hosting a watershed tour Saturday, October 15. The tour will start at 9 a.m. at the Monday Creek office in New Straitsville and will continue on to visit a reclaimed gob pile and subsidence, the Jobs Doser (one of only two dosers in Ohio), and Lost Run for hands-on water-quality monitoring. The day will conclude with a lunch at Dunkle Hall in New Straitsville. VISTA alumni who are in town to attend the picnic are welcome to attend the tour and will have plenty of time to return to Athens for the festivities.

Sunday Creek Trash Pickup
The Sunday Creek Watershed Group will be hosting a trash pickup with Girl Scouts from around the state on Saturday, October 15th. Meet at the watershed office to begin at 10:00 a.m. We will supply gloves and trash bags.
