Member Spotlight

This weeks Member Spotlight is on Debbie Richards.
Debbie first became involved with Rural Action because our very own Laura Richards, Rural Action’s Development Coordinator, had invited her one of our open house events called "Renewing Our Communities." At that open house Debbie learned about all the important work Rural Action is doing here in the region and felt compelled to become involved. “I realized the importance of supporting Rural Action because without the support of community members they could not continue to do what they do.” Debbie is most interested in the work Rural Action’s Sustainable Forestry and Agriculture programs are doing. She said that she would like to see more work done in the preservation native trees and shrubs. Debbie grew up in Amesville, but then moved to Detroit for twenty years. Upon her husband's retirement from General Motors in 1995 she returned to beautiful Athens County because her family was here. Debbie has many hobbies and pastimes but said her favorite way to spend an October afternoon is watching football and eating chili with her family. We would like to thank Debbie for her support and dedication to Rural Action and the community.
